Black Country Consortium Annual Conference

Mrs Turton, AIG and Career Aspiration Advisor: On Thursday 7th September 2017 we were invited to speak at the Black Country Consortium Annual Conference. This was held at the Black Country Museum and the agenda for the evening was The Black Country Picture. The presentation covered Local Labour Market information and was presented by Stuart Towe while Professor Tristram Hooley spoke about the National Careers Landscape. Members of our Senior Student Team Alex Clare, Priyankaa Patel, Charlotte Thomas spoke about our enterprise journey and our work with the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP). Our students were amazing and spoke to a packed hall of Business people and other school students.

Charlotte Thomas (11GSP): “We spoke in front of some local Business Enterprise Partners about the work we have done with Phil Caldicott, the Student Leadership Programme, and our new Careers Office. It was an enriching experience and we enjoyed the Black Country Museum tour.”

Priyankaa Patel (11GSP): “We all gave a speech about what we would like to do when we leave school and what resources we have in the Academy that would help with our careers. We encouraged the businesses to come and visit the Academy. It was a great experience.”
