Mrs Green, Business Studies Teacher: Last week a group of Year 10 Business Studies students went on a two day residential trip to the University of Wolverhampton. During the event the students worked as a team to come up with a creative solution to a real-life business challenge with the support of a University graduate mentor. The challenge given to our students was to inform primary school teachers of the newly launched Lego Education and to persuade these teachers that Lego was a product worth investing in. The students came up with a very impressive strap line of ‘Your Learning LEGOcy’ which attracted many positive comments. At the end of the two days the students ‘pitched’ their idea to representatives from Lego who then judged the teams and chose a winner. All of our students received excellent feedback and whilst they did not win, they all learned a great deal about entrepreneurial skills, team work and creative thinking. We are now already looking forward to attending this event next year!
