Mrs Turton, AIG and Career Aspiration Advisor: On 4th May eleven Year 10 students attended a STEM event at Dudley college. The workshops took place in the Advance and Dudley Sixth Campus.
Students took part in three workshops, coding in mathematics, Animal science and an Engineering workshop delivered by Highways England. Students also had the opportunity to speak to BETA, ISHIDA and McCain about apprenticeships and the world of work.
Durreshehvar Abid “The day we spent at Dudley College was full of new experiences. We met some nice people. The trip helped me in planning the next step in my future.”
Zahra Khan: “The STEM taster day was great. We took part in different sessions involving breaking maths codes, labour marketing and apprenticeships.”
Alisha Hussain: “The day was educational especially in the Engineering department where we learnt about apprenticeships. We also looked at occupation suitability.”
Karolina Szarafiniak: “I really enjoyed the time spent at the Advance campus. It was fun and interesting. We learnt the importance of Maths in everyday life. We spoke to new people who offered advice on apprenticeships.”
